The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

“The critically acclaimed debut novel from Stephen Chbosky, Perks follows observant “wallflower” Charlie as he charts a course through the strange world between adolescence and adulthood. First dates, family drama, and new friends. Sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Devastating loss, young love, and life on the fringes. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie must learn to navigate those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.”

This is a good one… But not THAT good. It’s really interesting to see the evolution of the main character, and how he discovers life. The story is great, but some parts are boring and you just skip them. You should read it though.

“Things change, friends leave. And life doesn’t stop for anybody.”

“So, I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we’ll never know most of them. But even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.”

“Maybe it’s sad that these are now memories. And maybe it’s not sad.”

“She wasn’t bitter. She was sad, though. But it was a hopeful kind of sad. The kind of sad that just takes time. ”
